There are a few quiet warriors
who meet regularly
in a tiny operating room
of a rather large hospital
in the name of Reproductive Justice.
Against all odds,
patients manage to find them,
and trust them.
Sometimes the choice is simple,
sometimes very complicated.
Regardless,
they listen
they trust their patients.
All the forces of Mother Nature work together;
blood,
tears,
seaweed.
Procedure day comes quietly,
it’s rarely a big affair.
though a potential life ends,
another is saved.
Most are lucky enough to have a loved one escort them away,
inconspicuously,
out of that rather large hospital,
with a chance to begin again.
